Fun, Creative, and Simple Ideas for Wedding Cakes

Since time immemorial, wedding cakes have been a vital part of weddings. In fact, the simple act of slicing a piece of the wedding cake is believed to be a symbol of unity, and it also serves as a manifestation of the couple’s commitment to each other, which begins on that special day onwards.

Nowadays, couples opt for wedding cake ideas that are conceived out of the box. Today’s couples are veering away from tradition and incorporating fun and creativity into their wedding cakes. There are quite a number of simple yet creative ideas for wedding cakes.

Wedding Cupcake Tower

While some stick to conventional multi-tiered fondant cakes with floral accents, majority of couples go for cupcake towers for their weddings. As the name suggests, this type of “cake” is composed of many individual cupcakes fashioned into one big wedding cake. You may choose to have cupcake liners in the color of your motif or you may decide to have a small cake placed on top of the “tower” where you may place the cake topper. Heck, even cake toppers these days are unique as you can see below. This type of wedding cake is a lot cheaper than traditional ones, that’s why a lot of practical couples choose this over the latter.

A Non-Working Valentine

Ever since I became a stay-at-home mom, I’ve always had a non-working Valentine. Non-working in a sense that I didn’t have to go to work because I wasn’t working, and because we didn’t have the usual Valentine because hubby always had to work. But it’s all good because we’d always say that everyday is Valentine’s day.

But what I miss the most are the events we used to have at work during these “occasions”. Aside from the usual roses of course for random employees and the games and short programs that we prepare, it’s the special things that the company gives out that gets us most excited. We always try to guess what new “thing” they will be giving out every year.

There were gift certificates for overnight stays at hotels, or tickets to a Valentine concert or show, or even gift certificates for dinner dates at posh restaurants. What I won’t forget though was when we were in charge of the surprise “thing” and we were looking for suppliers for Personalised Corporate Chocolates. It would have been a big hit if we found one on time but unfortunately we couldn’t have it going before Valentine’s.

But since we now have the contact person for such, I wonder if they finally got to use Corporate Chocolates recently? Maybe I should ask my former office mates to see if they did, and how they liked it. I’m sure it was a hit!
